September 2006 Journal...
September 11, 2006
So New York is gorgeous and clear, serene, sad. So many TV extravaganzas rehashing the last five years, I felt better just getting outside and trying to appreciate the resiliency and determination of this town.
I dont really feel any safer as I travel around constantly. Giving up my water at security, throwing out the mascara I forgot I had in my carry-on. Taking off my sneakers for the umpteenth time. These feel like such futile exercises. How can you fight people who are happy to die if they can just take a few of you with them. But I'm not staying home!!
Boston was so lovely on Saturday. I couldn't believe the weather, fabulous audience, and how great it felt to play with my band again. It's been a while. Thanks for the glowing smiles (and the nice red wine)!!
The DVD/CD comes out tomorrow in stores, but you can still get it right here. The new record, Careful What You Wish For, will be out in January.
Weve had to postpone the October German dates because its taken longer than we expected (I know, what a surprise) to find a partner to help us distribute the records there. And it seems too rushed to come and do gigs and promotion without having records in the stores. So I'm soooo sorry for the Euros who've been planning to attend. We'll keep you posted. Hey, maybe by the time we come we'll be able to bring the band!!
I'll be doing some promotional touring here in the States this fall. In-stores probably and some radio visits, and then we'll bring out the big guns early next year.
So thanks for your patience, belief and purchases. Every DVD helps!! They make great gifts as our pal PDX Kevin said on the posting board! If you haven't signed up, please do. Lots of fun people to chat at.
Love,
jonatha
